I am black; I am dark.
I am great; I am a treat.

My skin is brown; my body has grown.
I have struggled; I have hustled.

You know who I am; you know where I am.
I am here to live; I am here to give.

Give me a chance; give me some grace.
My mind is stronger; my knowledge is broader.

Just like you, I am human; just like you, I am a civilian.
You and I can share a piece; you and I can live in peace.

We can all stay together; we can all do better.
You should get to know me; you will get to like me.

Let’s change the narrative; let’s become creative.
Together let’s become tight; together we can be all right.
